The 20 000 square feet outdoor spa is spread over three acres and overlooks Whistler’s incredible landscape, offering the experience of hydrotherapy in the heart of nature.

After just one year of business, the Scandinave Spa Whistler has made an impression in their local community and beyond. The spectacular destination won the Pique Newsmagazine’s “Best Spa” designation in the “Best of Whistler ” awards. The website Spas of America also recognized Scandinave Spa Whistler as one of Canada’s top 100 spas in their annual listing.

Scandinave Spa Whistler also favorably positions the resort in the health and wellness tourism market by offering a product that differs from the various spas in British Columbia. The outdoor facility, located only 1.5 km north of Whistler Village on the edge of Lost Lake park, is open year-round, rain or shine, and provides intense relaxation and rejuvenation in the heart of nature.

Hydrotherapy cleanses the body and skin while improving blood circulation and physical conditioning. Occurring in three stages, just a few hours are required to fully enjoy the benefits of hydrotherapy. In sequence, the body is first heated in the Eucalyptus steam bath, hot baths or wood burning Finnish sauna. Then, the body is cooled quickly in the Nordic waterfalls, cold plunges or shower. Finally, relaxation takes place in the serenity of solariums, hammocks, and terraces or by the outdoor fireplaces. And for the ultimate relaxation, combine a Swedish, Deep tissue, sports, hot stone or Thai Yoga massage with the baths.

Like many others, I was drawn to Whistler because of the outdoor lifestyle. I wanted to be part of the vibrant mountain community and have the quality of life that living in a small town provides. I came here originally to experience winter in the mountains but my life here has grown into much more. From snowboarding, split-boarding, skate skiing to cross-country biking and swimming there is always something to do that gets me outside, before or after work. I appreciate the activities I get to experience on a daily basis.

I went to the University of Victoria and have my Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in marketing. My outgoing personality, negotiation and organization skills along with an ability to really listen to my client’s needs makes selling Whistler real estate a perfect fit.

Starting at The Whistler Real Estate Company in 2006, I developed a solid knowledge working as an assistant and then, after becoming licensed in 2007, a buyer’s agent. Whether you are looking to sell or purchase in Whistler, you’ll find my relaxed, no pressure approach enjoyable to work with. I love what I do for a living and feel rewarded when I am able to help people sell their place or find the right property. My goal is to build long term relationships with clients and make sure they have a positive real estate experience.

Does a daredevil lurk inside of you? How would you react to jumping off a cliff toward a torrential river below, only to be brought up short just before hitting the water? Would you like to soar birdlike over primeval forests and snow-covered valleys? Particularly in the winter time, bungee jumping, ziplining, and zip treks present the world in unparalleled fashion. And Whistler, British Columbia, offers these activities year around.

The Whistler Bungee staff has more than twenty years of experience and an unblemished safety record. Therefore, you can take that 160-foot drop (the highest bungee jumping venue I British Columbia) knowing every effort has been made to insure your safety. Imagine the rush as you plummet toward the Cheakamus River, old-growth forests to one side and jagged cliffs to the other.

If vertical drops are not your idea of fun, then ziplining or zip trekking will certainly appeal to you. Offering the thrill of mid-air suspension and promising hair-raising speeds, these tours take a gliding path across the land below. Both activities employ a zipline–essentially a harness suspended from a supporting cable–that carries you from start to finish. The difference is that zip trekking also requires some hiking along the way.

The Zoom tour whisks you over Cougar Mountain and Whistler Valley at heights up to 400 feet. A special feature is that two guests can ride side-by-side. The most thrilling moment happens when you drop 200 feet at speeds up to 60 mph–all while taking in the beauty of the landscape below.

For an added bonus, try the Zip ’n’ Chili tour. Available Wednesdays and Fridays during the winter season, this twilight tour glides through Whistler’s Old Growth Rainforest. Enhancing the experience, thousands of twinkling LEDs impart a magical glow to the land below. At journey’s end, enjoy a nice, warming treat: dinner featuring hot chili and beverages next to a warm fire as the Fitzsimmons Creek babbles along outside

If you want to enhance the thrill, graduate to a Zip Trek. The Bear Tour (offering senior and child discounts) is perfect for beginners, families, and groups. Five zip lines linked by suspension bridges, boardwalks, and trails send you soaring over Fitzsimmons Creek and stunning panoramas. Finally, there is the ultimate adrenaline rush, the Eagle Tour. An incredible three-hour tour, the longest of the Eagle’s five ziplines is 2200 feet and drops an amazing 20 stories! This is not for the faint of heart, but it is well worth the price. You will not tire of reliving the event as you wend you way back to Whistler Village.

Note: Due to the extreme nature of these tours, they enforce minimum weight and/or age requirements (generally, no one under six years old or less than 60 lbs.).

Imagine the looks on your friends’ faces when you return home with stories and photographs of yourself flying over the countryside or diving down the side of a cliff toward the icy water below. It’s heart-pumping excitement at its best.

Enjoy the view while seated inside the comfort of one of the 28 heated gondola sky cabins, two of which are equipped with glass bottom floors for those who enjoy a bit of an adrenaline rush with their scenery. The gondola makes it easy to follow the sun and take advantage of changing snow conditions as precious on-slope time need not be wasted as you trudge between east-facing Whistler and west-facing Blackcomb: now you can just jump across the divide and get back to the world-class skiing and riding that you came for.

You need not be on skis to ride the gondola and marvel at the striking vistas just outside your window as you glide along its 4.4km/2.73mi route. Offering panoramic views of Canada’s Coastal Mountains, the Peak 2 Peak gondola provides sightseers with a chance to revel in the natural beauty of their surroundings from an incredible vantage point. Spend the morning relaxing with a cup of hot cocoa or espresso at Roundhouse Lodge while the most daring of your party explore some of the 200 marked trails, and then join them for an awe-inspiring ride on the gondola while you all head over to Christine’s to kick back for a little après-ski and a full-service mountaintop dinner.

The Peak 2 Peak gondola opens up a new world of summer adventure and mountain vistas for hikers and sightseers alike as well. Exploring the natural wonders of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains has never been easier, as the gondola turns just getting around Fitzsimmons Creek Valley into an unforgettable vacation experience of its own. Suspended at a record-setting 435m/1,427ft at its highest point above Fitzsimmons Creek, the Peak 2 Peak gondola boasts the world’s longest stretch of unsupported cable as it spans the 3.024km/1.88mi between the two mountain bases. First opened to the public at the start of the 2008/2009 winter season, a ride on the Peak 2 Peak gondola is sure to be a memorable experience for the whole family, and one that can only be experienced at Whistler-Blackcomb resort.

I stayed here with my husband and teenage daughters from 21st – 23rd Dec. We were booked into the Gold Floor and this exceeded our expectations, with both cleanliness and service,( despite previous Trip Advisor reviews…

Pros- great location, service, ski valet, shops and art.Cons-There were many drunks in the hotel and outside by the pool/firepits at all hours- fighting, shouting, swearing loudly. NOT the place for a rest after a long day of skiing. …
